Aligning our learning objectives, instructional strategies and assessment. This presentation introduces the work of Lorin Anderson, David Krathwol and their colleagues in extending Bloom’s taxonomy of learning objectives. We will look at how their revised taxonomy can be utilized by language teachers for aligning our various classroom endeavors, specifically the learning objectives we determine for our learners, the instructional strategies we use to help learners toward those objectives, and the assessment protocol we use for measuring success in attaining those objectives. Participants will be called on to examine their practices in terms of this alignment.
